‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 1: New sneak peek, Candice Patton interview segment!

Iris -

We know that there are certainly many fans of “The Flash” out there, and of this particular crew, we are also very well-aware of the fact that there are many Iris West supporters. We saw her come into her own as a character at the end of season 1, and when season 2 premieres on Tuesday, that will be turned up yet another notch.

While she does not have superpowers, there is something else that Iris possesses that is equally important: Strength. She is not afraid to ask tough questions, make difficult decisions, or be a leader. This is something that she will focus on more than ever now, given that STAR Labs could be using that sort of unifying presence with Harrison Wells (at least as the team knew him) out of commission. Barry Allen is going to be preoccupied trying to push people away, while Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon have plenty of their own problems to worry about.

Candice Patton did an interview recently on a Fox morning show out in Los Angeles, and in addition to seeing her discuss her role and some changes coming in season 2, the video below also gives you a tiny sneak peek featuring her and Jesse L. Martin (Joe West). In this, she makes it clear that she has a particular agenda when it comes to Barry: She’s not going to let him hide out and try to do everything on his own. Sure, he does have a right to feel insecure and worried about the fates of those who try to help him. However, it’s their choice to do so, and the more danger that he puts himself in will lead to the greater possibility that he isn’t around anymore.

Ultimately, Iris loves Barry. She may not know or understand it completely yet, but we feel like one way or another, she’ll figure out a way to watch out for him.
