‘Game of Thrones’ film is (still) not in development, despite latest reports

LogoIf there is one thing that has become a time-honored tradition with “Game of Thrones” over time, it is seeing the number of inaccurate and completely crazy stories that come out via a very bored series of writers. Typically the guiltiest of parties are those in the British press, who like to cause trouble just for the sake of doing so

Case in point: Some reports that were starting to come out this past week, stating in not-so-blunt terms that there was a feature film already in development for the show, potentially with it revolving around some events taking place before the start of the series. Robert’s Rebellion has been a hot topic in particular, given that it is a notable event mentioned often in both the show and the George R.R. Martin books.

In debunking this particular rumor, Martin responded to a question on his Not a Blog:

“Yes, completely false … No one is working on any movie just now. And if there was a movie, it would not be about Robert’s Rebellion.”

In many ways, we do understand some of the frustration that Martin may have at this point in regards to some of the rampant off-topic questions, such as the one about the movie, while he attempts to discuss other matters in the blog. However, in a certain way this is how fans feel that they have the highest chance to receive an answer to a question, and this one is rather valuable to know since it puts a stop to some of the mindless chatter.
