‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Miley Cyrus, Taran Killam get you ready for premiere!

Fresh off of her gig as the host of the MTV Video Music Awards, Miley Cyrus this weekend is going to be heading to some other familiar territory in “Saturday Night Live.” She has hosted the show now multiple times, but this is her first chance getting the big premiere episode. Not only that, but she is also serving as the musical guest.

Despite whatever warnings that Miley may joke about in the promo below, don’t worry: She will be wearing clothes. Some of the headlines and her sense of style serve as a distraction from the fact that she is really rather good at this gig! She came into it with the experience in front of an audience from “Hannah Montana,” and obviously performing concerts on stage helps in its own way. She knows how to make people laugh, and you never get a sense that she takes herself too seriously.

Cyrus’ partner in this particular preview is none other than Taran Killam, who is being positioned more and more as the show’s signature cast member that they put on posters and the like. In many ways, we get it: He’s been there a long time, can anchor a wide array of different characters, and he’s also insanely funny. Maybe at the moment Kate McKinnon is the bigger star when you open up entertainment magazines, but the thing that is somewhat hard to remember is that she has really only been on the show a handful of years. Her rise has been in that sense meteoric, and the same goes for Leslie Jones and Pete Davidson.

We’ll get more in-depth into this show as we get closer to the weekend, but for now, we feel pretty confident when we say that many laughs may be coming.
