‘NCIS’ season 13, episode 3 preview: Could Bishop and McGee’s undercover mission cause a problem?

NCIS -

Really ever since she first surfaced on “NCIS,” the writers have gotten a lot of mileage off of the friendship between Tim McGee and Ellie Bishop. For the most, they’ve focused in specifically on putting the two in positions where they can run banter through a scene; for example, them speculating about Gibbs’ new makeover before he comes in and spoils the party. Their natural dialogue is a precursor to when serious stuff goes down.

So what happens when they become the serious stuff? That is one of the interesting things about next week’s “Incognito,” an episode that could force some tension on their friendship after the two are ordered to work together on a case and go undercover in a surprising capacity. The synopsis below, if you have not seen it already, offers up more details.

“After a Marine is found murdered in Quantico hours after calling Gibbs to discuss a possible case, Bishop and McGee go undercover as a married couple to run surveillance on a Marine Lieutenant and his wife.”

For Sean Murray and Emily Wickersham, there is probably some fun that will come in getting to do a different sort of work together. Also, this will get the focus off of Gibbs at least a little bit; no offense to the character, but we’ve had a lot of him through two episodes. You do want to remember that there are some other people in the cast that need a moment or two to shine. This is something you’ll see a lot of in the weeks ahead.
