‘Big Brother 17’ finale: Jason Roy on Vanessa comments, popularity poll results in backyard interview

JasonEven though Jason Roy was not a big “Big Brother” juror, he somehow still had one of the better moments of the entire finale when he told Vanessa that while she played an incredible game, she needed to do a better job of actually owning it.

With that in mind, we knew that he would be a fun person to hear from in a backyard interview featuring Big Jeff.

On the outcome – “I think tonight went great. I would have loved to see Vanessa win … but if she couldn’t win, in the situation of Steve vs. Liz, he was the right winner.”

On Vanessa not owning her game – “She just didn’t say it in the Diary Room. I just wanted to hear her say it a little more. That’s what we want! Our favorite players are the ones who say ‘I hate all of these people.’ She never did that.”

On this season – “Some of my favorite seasons are ones that happened over a decade ago … We’re definitely a young group, we had a lot of vibrant personalities who weren’t afraid to open their mouth. In the long run, we were a different, unique type of cast for ‘Big Brother.'”

On his regrets – “Everything. My whole game was a whole mess because I couldn’t pretend to like these people! … I should have tried to put on the face and play the game, but you fall back to who you are in normal life.”

On who he will keep in touch with – “I know it’ll be reduced down to Christmas emails! I think the people I connected with, like the Megs and the Jackies and the James, are those I will [stay close] to.”

On what’s next – “Normal life. This was my highest aspiration in life!”

Jason also said it was “really nice” to finish in the top three in the America’s favorite poll, mostly because pre-jury people don’t come close to winning it typically.
