‘Homeland’ season 5 spoilers: What is the state of Carrie and Saul?

The fifth season of “Homeland” is going to be premiering on Showtime come October 4, and when it does, there are going to be a pretty wide array of revelations and developments that take shape.

Of course, one of the biggest ones is going to be seeing right away just how Saul ends up treating Carrie and vice-versa when they start to enter each other’s worlds. How does this happen? Carrie’s name is going to come up during an investigation into some cyber-security breaches overseas, with much of tied to what she is now doing for employment overseas. There is a different sort of national security that will at times be at the core of the new season, but don’t worry: There is also still going to be plenty of action and drama.

Specifically when it comes to Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin’s characters, let’s just say that things will be very icy. After Saul seemed to turn her back on her at the end of season 4, Entertainment Weekly confirms that not much will have changed when season 5 starts and Carrie is now in Germany away from the agency. Their interactions will be tense, and at the moment, it is not entirely clear if they will ever be on the same page.

Of course, we do hope that they will both for the sake of the country, and in many ways for the sake of themselves. This show does tend to be better by and large when you have these characters friendly towards each other.
