‘Big Brother 17’ review: Was Austin Matelson or Steve Moses evicted in fifth place?
Ready for some fun on “Big Brother 17“? Tonight was really the first night that we did not know 100% who was going to go home, and this led for some drama and anxiety on our part.
So did Vanessa make the right decision to evict Austin over Steve? Ultimately, we don’t really think it mattered that much for one reason: Steve and Johnny Mac are probably going to stay together and not keep her in the game, just as Austin and Liz would. The only difference is that we could see John cutting Steve to maybe go to the final two with Liz, but we cannot see him taking someone like Vanessa who has played so hard.
In the end, we somewhat love it that a guy nicknamed Judas was so stunningly bitter about going out the door tonight. He used the “scumbag” term to describe being sent home, and it took three seconds for Vanessa to go to an entirely new level of tears. We would find it kind of hilarious still if Liz got invited to do “The Bold and the Beautiful” and he didn’t. If Austin didn’t have all of that girlfriend stuff, we wonder if he would be as hated on the outside world as he is. (If you’re wondering why he didn’t get booed, we figure it is because the audience was most likely CBS employees to prevent spoilers. They’re not booing.)
Who is the new HoH? The answer is Steve! Apparently, it was an accident. He meant to say 6,000, and then forgot a zero and ended up winning over Johnny Mac in a lucky tiebreaker.
We’re going to have some exit interview responses very soon from Austin, so be on the lookout for those over the next day or so! Also, you can sign up here to get some other TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)
