‘The Talk’ premiere: Sharon Osbourne opts not to discuss recent hiatus
While Sharon Osbourne was present on Monday for the new season of “The Talk” in Los Angeles, the episode came and went without her getting into too many specific details about why she was ready to depart the show for a time earlier this year.
Is there a time when she is planning to discuss it? It seems that way, given that she made it clear in a post on Facebook even before the premiere aired that she wouldn’t be discussing it, with the main reason being that she wants to ensure she is “ready” to give the subject the attention that it deserves:
“I thought I was ready to discuss with the world why I took a leave of absence from The Talk, but on reflection, I feel that I’m not ready or strong enough right now. I will at some point, because I feel there are thousands of people out there who are going through the same thing. I want them to know they’re not on their own. We all struggle in life, no matter what our circumstance.”
For the time being we don’t want to speculate, but we will commend Sharon for her return, and also “The Talk” itself for continuing to find a way to do something that “The View” has struggled with in recent years: Keeping some consistency. While there were changes after the first season, the show has for the most part remained firm around Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sheryl Underwood, Aisha Tyler, and Sara Gilbert. These are the people viewers have come to know, and like having as a part of their day.
Best wishes go out to Sharon while she prepares to eventually discuss what has ailed her.
