‘Doctor Who’ season 9 video: Jenna Coleman, Steven Moffat talk two-part episodes
While you are getting the same primary cast for the upcoming ninth season of “Doctor Who,” that may be one of the few things that is the same. There is going to be a whole lot that is different about the upcoming batch of episodes, with one of the biggest things being a change in style. Rather than stories that stand fully on their own, the series is adopting two-parters as a way to tell more of a story. It’s not the first time we’ve seen it on the show, but typically it is only once or twice a season.
In the video below, you can see Clara Oswald herself in Jenna Coleman explain what it is about these stories that she finds intriguing, while Steven Moffat discusses further how things have a tendency to bounce around from one world to another in these arcs.
One of the best thing of all about them? It gives us a chance to see some really epic confrontations and cliffhangers, which will carry over from one episode to the next. These are the sort of things that could really get fans’ excited and discussing matters at length on message boards and social media.
The upcoming season of “Doctor Who” premieres on Saturday, and we’re going to see everyone from Michelle Gomez to Maisie Williams guest-star. Meanwhile, there will be Daleks aplenty in the new series, and you better believe that a few other fan favorites are going to return in secret.
