‘Doctor Who’ season 9 spoilers: See Peter Capaldi in new prologue scene

The ninth season of “Doctor Who” is currently getting set to air on September 19, and in preparation of that launching once again, the BBC was nice enough on Friday to release what is considered to be the prologue to what lies ahead.

This preview features a visit to the planet Karm, and while not all of it necessarily will make immediate sense, the one important note here is that Peter Capaldi’s Doctor is going away for a time. This helps to set up the story in “The Magician’s Apprentice,” the show’s first episode in which Clara Oswald is going to have to figure out in part where The Doctor is. This episode, penned by executive producer Steven Moffat, is also going to feature some sort of appearance from Michelle Gomez as The Master.

We’ve always enjoyed the BBC posting little prologues and extensions to some of these episodes, mostly because they are much preferred to just a simple trailer. They’re extra context! Even if nothing in here ultimately bears too much importance for when the episode actually airs, it is still relevant information that dds to what we are going to be seeing a little bit down the road.

We are very much excited to see what is coming up throughout season 9, which is promising at the moment a variety of fun, different, and daring adventures than we’ve ever seen on the show before. Let’s just hope that this time around, the series continues to live up to some of the hype. We’ll have further news all about it in the near future.
