‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17 spoilers: Could Taylor Swift join Mariska Hargitay on NBC show?

For those of you who are Taylor Swift fans, you’ve probably come to be aware over the course of the past couple of years that she is a huge Mariska Hargitay fan. She considers the “Law & Order: SVU” star to be one of her personal heroes, and she also has a cat named after her character Olivia Benson.

Once all of this information was first made public, Swift and Hargitay have definitely had some chances in order to collaborate. Mariska appeared, for example, in Swift’s VMA-winning music video “Bad Blood” as the character Justice, and now of course comes the eternal question: Is it possible that Swift could tackle the NBC show itself?

Based on what we are hearing right now, it certainly at least appears like this is something that could be considered. Speaking per “Entertainment Tonight,” Hargitay claims that much of it in the end could depend on what Taylor’s tour schedule turns out to be:

“We just talked about it … We”re going to wait until the end of the [1989 World] tour to see how it goes. But it’s in the air.”

Obviously, it feels like this is something that Swift would enjoy, and NBC would be through the roof if it happens. While “SVU” is a solid hit and it performs well all around the show, it is not necessarily a runaway hit in America anymore. Having a huge music star on board would send the ratings to another level.
