ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: New art hypes up Castle’s new business
We admit that when we first saw a promo for “Castle” season 8 teasing that Rick was going to be a private eye once again, we thought that ABC’s marketing department made a mistake. We had not heard any news about it in the press leading up to it coming out, and Castle P.I. was not that popular a story move when it first happened.
Well, hopefully the promo art posted on Twitter below gives you some further evidence that yes, the P.I. twist is happening again. Not only that, but Alexis is going to be partnering with him in it! We’re probably more for this idea than some others out there, mostly because it gives Alexis something fun to do (which hasn’t always been the case), Nathan Fillion and Molly Quinn have a really fun dynamic, and it’s not like he’s going to be out of Beckett’s world all of a sudden. They are still married, and we imagine that Rick will clash often with the NYPD during some investigations.
Ultimately, we do think that it would be a mistake to read too much into this as proof suddenly that the entire dynamic of the show is going to change that much. Stana Katic is not going anywhere, and while Alexis may be helping out her dad, who’s to say she will even be with him all the time? She may be off tracking some of her own leads. This is one of those twists that really feels like it needs to be seen before judged. If it doesn’t turn out well, then we’ll start burying it then.
For now, here’s just one quick reminder that the show returns to ABC on Monday, September 21, and you can read more about the premiere here!

I was really hoping that new showrunner would bring new perspective to this show… But dragging the whole story of Castle’s so called Private Investigator back to light..? Come on… Seriously..? Season 7 was partial disaster.. and Castle being P.I. was just unbearable… to watch…
And they are bringing Castle being P.I. again..? Oh.. please…
I was excited about New Season 8 and beyond..
Season premier is only 11 days away….
I really hope they get their act together and not destroy the awesome show…
Hanging up the cleats at the right moment would be best for this show…
(If this is correct meaning to this article.. I hope)
Thanks for reading my comments..

I will not even begin to guess why they would return to that awful Castle PI business. I can only speak for myself as a viewer and fan of the show.
While I gave up on the Castle/ Beckett as a romantic couple after Stana and Nathan were so awkward with that portrayal in season 7 and depended on a return to good storytelling with Katic giving me a good show.
Even if I am able to neutralize my feelings about Caskett, which some cannot seem to do, I do not foresee Castle PI with Alexis as anything remotely interesting.
Not only was that story line boring but Alexis is boring, period. Sorry Molly, but she just comes off as a reason to FF during her scenes.
Even if Stana/Beckett remains an important part of the stories, how can an episode be enjoyed when a lot of FF is happening.
I yield. That new show, Blindspot, I think maybe worth a try.
Leave Stana before this ship sinks under the weight of Castle PI and family.

I get that the first 2 episodes are structured to accommodate Stana’s shooting schedule with Sister Cities, but after that if they want to hold the ratings Fillion and Katic need to show up on the screen together a lot.

Agree. Even though Castle and Beckett have been with Ryan and Esposito and Alexis and Martha much of the time to keep the time of their screen appearance up it still bothers me that all of the new characters will want their own screen time and will dilute the time that Castle and Beckett are on screen. With Alexis to be on screen with her father in the PI business and being mentored by the new Hayley where will Beckett be getting her screen time with more of the available screen time going to Alexis?

I agree.Stana is the main attraction for a lot of us. What the show needs is more passion between she and Nathan, not more screen time for other characters.
