‘Bachelor in Paradise 2’ finale review: Are Jade Roper, Tanner Tolbert engaged?

Jade and Tanner -We’re not going to spend the majority of this “Bachelor in Paradise” article focusing on some of the newer couples, mostly because for the most part, it’s really hard to feel that invested in some of them. Justin Reich and Cassandra Ferguson are as new as new can be, while Nick Peterson and Samantha Steffen haven’t received a ton of screen time. To be fair, they’d been talking for a while even before the season, so maybe they do have a little bit of a shot at happiness down the road.

For the most part, the majority of this finale has to be about the newly-engaged Tanner Tolbert and Jade Roper, mostly because of the fact that they are the true couple of Paradise in some ways. As far as we know, they didn’t have some long-standing relationship before the show, and we saw the majority of their story play out throughout. The fact that they are now engaged is only more testament to the success that they had through this. They have become the second couple in two years of this show to be at the center of a proposal; we are not sure that this is going to be a recurring theme or anything with this franchise, so we’re going to say for now just that they are pretty lucky.

As far as breakups go, it’s the end for Joshua Albers and Tenley Molzahn, and also probably the end for Tenley on this franchise. While there’s a part of us that would be happy with her as the Bachelorette, it does feel for now like it is time for her to move forward and get away from this craziness.

In the end, this is all for the most part window-dressing for the “After Paradise” special coming up later tonight.
