‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spoilers: Is there trouble ahead for Ruzek and Burgess?

It’s hard to keep a relationship healthy when you have a stressful job. It’s even harder when you may have done something that would test your relationship in jeopardy even without the stress of the job. This is where Ruzek and Burgess are on “Chicago PD” moving forward, as that proposal we saw on the show may lead to a wide variety of other problems.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a new interview, executive producer Matt Olmstead teases that the engagement could be problematic, mostly because of the fact that Ruzek may not really be ready to walk down the aisle. He may just enjoy the wide array of other benefits for a little while:

“What Burgess begins to realize is … as opposed to really wanting to get married, he’s getting a buzz off being engaged … People buy you drinks, you get the attention, but when it comes to actually picking out the font for the save-the-date cards, he’s not that interested.”

As you would imagine, this could at some point down the road lead to some further tension and conflict. It’s going to be a fun thing to explore, and we’re excited to see what happens. Relationships in bizarre circumstances always do make for some interesting discussion points.

New episodes of “Chicago PD” are going to air on NBC starting on Wednesday, September 30. We’re going to have some other news related to the series soon enough! We’re sure that there will be some other potential relationship problems along the way, including for Lindsay and Halstead.
