‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: First look at Mimi Rogers’ return
There has been a whole lot of time spend, and understandably so, discussing the status of Agent Gibbs during some of our “NCIS” coverage here at CarterMatt. Why wouldn’t there be? There was an enormous cliffhanger set up at the end of season 12 regarding the status of Mark Harmon’s character, but one important thing to remember is that while he recovers, the organization known as The Calling is still out there.
With this in mind, you better believe that Agent DiNozzo and Joanna Teague (Mimi Rogers, returning for the September 22 premiere) are going to do what they can to stop this group once and for all! This is what is going to take them to Shanghai, though it appears in the photo above that they are still in Washington for this particular scene.
There hasn’t been too much information shared one way or another as to if The Calling is going to be a group with some sort of long-term future on the show, but we have to assume that they will be at least gone for part of the fall, even if they do turn up later. “NCIS” is not the sort of show to have an established Big Bad, only to then come back and mention them every single episode. Sooner or later, the series is probably going to be moving on to some other topics and important cases.
Of course, we’ll have some further updates every step of the way, so be on the lookout for that.

I really hope that the writers are allowed to let Tony and Dorneget’s mother solve The Calling case but I’m afraid they will have to fail so that Gibbs can swoop in at a later date and be the hero as usual. It’s been so long since any team member besides Gibbs got to matter in an arc or be the hero. Gibbs is already going to be the big story because of his injury. Does he always have to get all the exciting writing? I really miss the days when Tony really mattered.

I like Mimi. Good to see her back.

Agreed. I noticed elsewhere that she’s listed in the press release for this episode as a “recurring cast”, not a guest star, so I’m hoping that means she’ll be back from time to time through the season where it makes sense for NCIS to need a CIA contact.
