‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: The Veto meeting is adjourned

JohnWe’re going to start this “Big Brother 17” article with a brief defense of Steve, mostly because we do actually feel a little bad for him. We had less sympathy with him getting all emotional after he is Head of Household, but we think that he is probably a really nice guy and someone who doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. He’s just a shy kid who loves the game and is trying to play it the best way that he can.

The problem with Steve is that he seems like the kind of guy who has felt insecure a lot in his life, and insecurity is a bad thing to have in the Big Brother house. It comes across as having doubt or being “fake,” which is what he is being accused of now. We’ve seen so much Steve-bashing today that it’s pretty depressing, since he’s mostly getting blamed for starting an anti-Vanessa alliance that he wasn’t really that responsible for.

Vanessa did not use the Veto, and we imagine a couple of days ahead stuffed full of flip-flopping as to who is going to be sent home … though they could immediately come right back.

So who do we want to see come back? We’ve thought about this, and at the moment we are going to say that Shelli may be at the top of our list surprisingly. We feel like she is a pretty good social player, and to go along with that she is very good in many of the competitions. Becky is not as good a social player, but if her toe is better she is capable of winning. Jackie would bring great drama and we’re all for that, but she’s only won a single competition.

As for Johnny Mac or Steve, we really like them but wonder how much damage they could do. One of these guys needs to develop a real killer instinct over the next couple of days, and they’ve both been too content being in the background when they needed to play big.

We’ll probably have more aftermath later today, so head over here to get some other updates from the feeds! Also, you can sign up here to get some more TV news on everything we cover, sent right to you via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)
