‘Big Brother 17’ exclusive: Becky Burgess on Johnny Mac alliance, toe injury, and more
We’re back once again with our “Big Brother 17” email exit interview, and this afternoon, we received our replies back courtesy of Becky Burgess. We’re not going to waste too much time here setting this up, other than saying that we feel like she did a decent job explaining herself and she at least took a little time in responding. These interviews can be tough, given that players are doing so many of them in a day that they can get burned out.
CarterMatt – Is there anything that you think you could have done to stay in the game over John?
Becky Burgess – I was confident I was staying in the house over John the whole week. I constantly brought up great points to keep me in the house. It was not until 30 minutes before the live eviction began, Austin said he saw Johnny Mac as more of an independent player, whereas he saw me and someone playing with a group, Meg and James.
Is it harder being up for eviction against someone you considered to be such a close ally?
Absolutely. It makes campaigning difficult. Also, he is someone I want to work if I get a chance to return to the game so I’d hate to lose his [trust].
Did you think that with your recent toe injury, some people in the house would see you as less of a physical threat?
Unfortunately not, because we do not know the recovery time for my injury.
If you had survived this week, who would you have wanted to go to the final two with and why?
I’d like to go with John. He’s someone I have trusted from the beginning of the game but I also feel that I could take the grand prize because I have more HOH wins.
Finally, how much did potentially being able to get back into the game influence the way you left? Did you want to keep some cards close in the event you came back?
It heavily influenced how I left because I knew that I would be more well-received upon returning to the house if I had more friends than grudges. But, if I left with anger and resentment, I would be the first to go.

There’s some pretty good information in here about Becky wanting to go to the end with John, though if we were her, we’d probably say to the other people that the toe was going to be injured for weeks, even if we had no clue. Why not let them believe that?
