‘Chicago Fire’ season 4 spoilers: On Taylor Kinney’s Severide and a new love interest

Who would have thought that this would be a major storyline for “Chicago Fire” season 4? Well, to be honest, many of us probably did. It’s really not too big of a surprise to figure out that Severide could have some more romance in his life, just because this is a guy who does like to have women around and is someone who has certainly had many struggles as a result of past relationships.

Since it is always in the best interest of the show to try and shake things up a little bit, you really should not be too shocked to learn that for the new season, producers are trying something that will certainly be different in a few ways. Speaking to TV Guide in a new interview, executive producer Matt Olmstead explained a little bit about how he ultimately does end up meeting someone in what has to be one of the most unexpected places possible:

“He’s back to fling mode … “Part of the ramifications of getting demoted is that he has to go to this manager trainee course that is obligatory. Sure enough, he meets someone, played by Rachel Nichols, who’s sent there because she’s a problem employee at the law firm she works at. So, there’s a little romance that happens there that turns into a complication down the road.”

Of course, sooner or later we would like to see Taylor Kinney’s character end up with someone who could be something a little more permanent down the road, and there’s no real news one way or another here as to whether or not this will be the one.
