‘Big Brother 17’ exclusive: Shelli Poole, Jackie Ibarra exit interview responses
Doing these “Big Brother” exit interviews from the jury house is always somewhat of a tossup. Sometimes you get people who are really excited to type out their answers; other times, you get people who are clearly exhausted with doing interviews at the time in which they get around to writing up answers for you and they are just trying to get it over with.
We were initially going to create two separate articles for Shelli Poole and Jackie Ibarra’s exit interviews, but Shelli ultimately gave us so little we don’t really see the point, and we didn’t want to trick you into thinking that it is anything that substantial. We suppose we’ll take some of the blame for asking questions that could be asked with one word, though our expectation was that she’d take that and then elaborate a little. Her interview may rival Zach from last year for shortest one we’ve ever done at this stage of the game.
We’re going to try and provide some analysis of these after the fact, and of course a reminder: We cannot ask any leading questions or give out information that will destroy the integrity of the game. The Shelli interview is first:
CarterMatt – How much do you blame Becky for sending you to jury?
Shelli Poole – I blame Vanessa.
Were you surprised that the vote was unanimous?
No because this season everyone thinks you have to jump on board and vote unanimously or you’ll become the next target.
Who do you hold primarily responsible for rallying so many votes against you?
Vanessa.
Is there one game move in retrospect that you wish you could change now?
The one big regret that burns me is not sending Austin out when we could and having to say goodbye to sweet Jason.
If you do not get a chance to re-enter the game, who are you rooting to make it far in the game?
Steve and Johnny Mac.
Analysis – Clearly, there’s a lot of Vanessa-blaming going on here. We understand why given her situation. Of course, we do wish that she’d talked a little bit more about Becky in the first question, since we still don’t really know just how she feels about her after reading this.
Now, let’s move on to Jackie.
CarterMatt – How surprised are you to be in jury right now?
Jackie Ibarra – I am extremely surprised at my eviction due to Steve and his decision. I really didn’t see that one coming. I thought Steve and I were on great terms and we had discussed with each other that we weren’t each other’s targets.
Before the double-eviction, how would you describe your relationship with Steve?
I felt that Steve and I were starting to really get along and it almost seemed as if we were starting to work together. The night before the eviction we had discussed our potential targets going in to the double eviction and it seemed like he was targeting someone else and not me.
Who do you think told him that you were coming after him, causing the miscommunication you referenced during the episode?
It could possibly be Shelli or Vanessa. They were involved in my game plans when I was HOH. I don’t think my alliance would out me like that.
What was your reaction to John not using the Veto?
As soon as John decided to not use the veto, I knew 100% that I was the target. I had no idea that they were out to get me. I had no intentions of going after them and even spoke to them that my intentions were to target Vanessa during the double eviction.
If you could give Meg one piece of advice moving forward in this game, what would it be?
Stick with James and Becky and keep doing what you are doing.
Analysis – Great job here by Jackie. She really does seemed shocked by what happened and gives us some details from the game and what she was feeling during key moments. For the record, we think that Steve was making up the “miscommunication” last night, but in getting that answer from Jackie you get more of a sense of who she feels the manipulators are.
