‘Mistresses’ season 3 spoilers: The story intensifies in ‘Reasonable Doubt’

There’s probably a reason why the majority of the episode titles for “Mistresses” season 3 as we near the end of the story: The case surrounding Joss and Calista over Luca’s death is going to intensify. In the promo that aired after last night’s new episode, we learned that Calista is going to have a harder time than she thought distancing herself from the case. This could also create even more shocking scenarios in “Reasonable Doubt,” the upcoming August 27 episode that serves as the penultimate episode of the season and possibly the series as a whole.

Now, let’s get to going ahead and sharing the official synopsis now, courtesy of the network:

“Despondent over her situation, Joss struggles with whether she should take a plea deal and what that would mean for a future with Harry. Karen agrees to help Vivian keep her secret from Alec so that he can accept a very important award. April and Marc are blind-sided by a surprise visit from Marc’s sister Miranda. After being shut out by Joss … Calista sees the pain she’s causing her and makes her next move.”

Could we finally see a warming of the ice between Joss and Calista? It’s possible, but we have to think at this point that it could be far too late for the friendship to be saved. We don’t know how in the world Joss can ever forgive someone who basically implicated her in her husband’s death as a way to save herself from any possible suspicion.
