‘Suits’ season 5 spoilers: First look at summer finale

Before “Suits” season 5 comes to a conclusion this summer, it is very much looking like the Pearson Specter Litt that you’ve come to know could fall apart … and a couple of people who have been hiding out underneath the surface could rise to the occasion.

What is somewhat interesting about the summer finale this year (airing on August 26) is that for now, we don’t even know the title for this episode just yet. However, at the same exact time we know that Jack Soloff and Daniel Hardman are going to make a big move, judging from the already-released synopsis below:

“With their backs against the wall, Jessica and Louis make a last-ditch effort to rally the support of the partners, as Daniel Hardman and Jack Soloff attempt a takeover of the firm. Meanwhile, Mike and Harvey must each face down the demons of their past in order to make potentially life-altering decisions.”

Do they actually have the leverage to win? We probably do not know enough about the inner workings of a legal firm to know one way or another what is going to happen here. However, at the same time Jack and Daniel can make a case that with the current power regime, this firm is certainly dysfunctional. We’ve had the Donna drama, Harvey punching Louis in the face, and then the attempt to suspend him coupled with the latest attempt to not suspend him. This has been chaos, and that is just putting it lightly.

The person we feel the sorriest for here is Jessica, who has tried harder more so than anyone else over the past couple of weeks to keep the peace. Unfortunately, she’s having to deal with this alongside other firm issues and the fact that Mike Ross is on the verge of being exposed almost at every turn.
