‘The X-Files’ spoilers: Annabeth Gish returning as Monica Reyes

X Files -While the upcoming revival of “The X-Files” for Fox may only be lasting for about six episodes, it now feels pretty much official that Fox is doing everything it can to cram these particular episodes with as much content as possible.

For the latest example of this very thing, just take a look at the news that Annabeth Gish is coming back! Multiple reports indicate that you will see Gish appear in at least one episode as Monica Reyes, a significant character from the end of the series’ run who worked with Scully as well as Doggett. While Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are coming back as Scully and Mulder (there is no real show without them at this point), there’s no word on if we will see any more of Robert Patrick as Doggett. He may be a little bit busy thanks to his role on “Scorpion.”

Gish has certainly had a great past couple of years as far as great TV roles go, having recurred on the final season on “Sons of Anarchy” and also serving as a major character through the first two seasons of FX’s “The Bridge.” We’re all for seeing as many returning “X-Files” characters to the show as possible, given that this new batch of episodes is really a tribute to fans who desperately wanted to see this happen.

“The X-Files” will premiere on Fox this January after the NFC Championship Game. We can only imagine that we’re going to have a whole lot more in the way of news before then, but for now head over here to see some of the latest. Suffice it to say many other returning players are also coming back.
