‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Why, Becky, why?

BeckyThere are timid players on “Big Brother 17,” and then there is Becky. After watching her the past five or six hours, it wouldn’t surprise us at all if she doesn’t actually go through with her initial plan to backdoor Vanessa just so that she can get Steve out. (Yes, we’re exaggerating somewhat, but her gameplay at the moment is driving us mad.)

Earlier tonight, Becky suggested that she would rather take Shelli off the block than Vanessa in order to keep Shelli from being mad at her (isn’t she going to be mad about being up in the first place?), and try to go into Thursday night with a battle between Vanessa and Steve. Maybe she gets what she wants out of this, but she really has to hope that Vanessa doesn’t spin a web that gets either Jackie, Johnny Mac, Meg, or James voting to get rid of Steve. Do we think that this would happen? Probably not, but Vanessa’s proven to be very manipulative and you’re taking a big gamble trying to put her up against someone who hasn’t really shown that his “Big Brother” knowledge translates well to the game.

Really, we don’t understand Becky’s nervousness around Steve at all. Did she never meet someone like him working at Abercrombie or something? If Steve, Becky, and Johnny Mac all got on the same page, that’s a really good three-person alliance that could ride the middle, allow the other alliances to pick each other off, and then take over once there is a straggler or two. More so than keeping Steve on the block this week (since we do think the odds will be in his favor to stay), we think that Becky’s biggest mistake is not having the awareness to realize that this is a guy that could be useful. Sure, he’s really close to Vanessa now, but he’s smart enough to listen to other offers. You’re just not making him any.

Elsewhere tonight, there were 20 Questions, chess, and James making a tinfoil voodoo figure and putting it in Austin’s bed. This is what we like about James: The little live-feed shenanigans like him pranking people.
