‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9: The gang’s back together again!

For those wondering, the upcoming ninth season of “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS is officially underway! A table read has taken place, and the cast is back in Los Angeles, working hard to bring some more laughs to you come September 21.

One of the first bits of confirmation that we have on this very thing is coming to you courtesy of series star Melissa Rauch, who posted the photo of herself and Kunal Nayyar below onto her official Twitter page. This show is one of the last ones of the returning fall series to get started, but there is a pretty simple reason for that: Multi-camera sitcoms operate with a slightly different schedule than single-camera ones or dramas. If you are an actor who likes to perform in front of a live audience, this is a pretty nice schedule with some flexibility to do some other things.

As for where season 9 picks up, for Nayyar’s Raj it will be interesting to learn if he and Emily (Laura Spencer) have finally parted ways after she completely freaked him out at the end of season 8. Meanwhile, we have to learn still whether or not Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) are going to get married after deciding to go to Vegas to prove to everyone that they were not just putting off their wedding until the end of the world.

There are many funny stories still to be told on this series most-likely, but for now the majority of them are under wraps. Just remember that September 21 is a Monday, and the show is continuing the tradition established last year of moving during Thursday Night Football’s time on CBS.
