‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: The singularity struggle

FlashWe admire the producers and writers for “The Flash” so much right now for having some guts when it comes to their story. They could have decided to wait a long time before getting to Earth 2, or introducing such things as the multiverse into the mix. These are comic-book elements that could be confusing for some casual fans, and to go along with that there are also many different storytelling nightmares.

For diehard fans, to us this is nothing other than great news. So long as the show is able to keep everything straight, this means opportunities to see everything from Killer Frost to Vibe to potentially some other characters. We’re not sure how they will work into the show (maybe these two in particular become a part of the regular universe), but with the singularity at the end of last season we at least know that they are out in the ether.

Show executive producer Andrew Kreisberg is one of the reasons why this show is being bold enough to make this sort of move in the first place, and speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a new interview, he had the following to say in terms of what the overall plan is:

“We’re trying to do the same thing this year with Earth 2 and the concept of the multiverse and the concept of dopplegangers. We’ve been having a lot of fun with that and getting glimpses of Earth 2 probably sooner than people would’ve thought.”

The new season premieres on Tuesday, October 6, and you have to think already that there will be more than a few reasons to be excited over what lies ahead with so many different timelines and possibilities. Stay tuned!
