‘Chicago Fire’ season 4 spoilers: What does Dawson’s pregnancy mean for her moving forward?

There are many mysteries coming up on the fourth season of “Chicago Fire,” and one of the big ones will be finding out just what is happening to Casey. We figure that we’ll have some time in the future to focus more on his character, so for now we’re going to address a question that is just as important, even though it may not have the same life-or-death circumstances right now: What’s happening with Dawson’s pregnancy?

Given that she is expecting a child, you cannot have this character out there at the moment fighting fires. It’s just not safe, and if she was doing it we figure that it would make Dawson look irresponsible, and at the same time make it a little unclear what in the world the writers are thinking when it comes to this character.

Therefore, we are glad to see via Entertainment Weekly some evidence that the show has other plans for the character for at least a little while. By the time the second episode airs, we’re going to be seeing this character assigned over to the arson squad. This means that she’ll still be able to use many of her skills, but in a different way.

Obviously, we have many other questions when it comes to what the future could hold now for Dawson and Casey potentially together after everything that they’ve been through and the pregnancy, but we’ll have to wait for a while to know. New episodes start airing come Tuesday, October 13.
