‘Secrets and Lies’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Dallas’ alum Jordana Brewster signs on

Secrets and Lies

While the second season of “Secrets and Lies” will not be premiering on ABC until at some point in the new year most likely, they are doing a really awesome job of getting together a cast.

Before we get into that too deep, let’s start here by sharing the premise, in the event that you haven’t heard about it already. Juliette Lewis is the only returning cast members from the first season, and this time around her Detective Cornell is going to be investigating a very different sort of case revolving around the death of Kate, the wife of a young man named Eric (Michael Ealy) who is set to inherit a very impressive hedge fund from his father (Terry O’Quinn). Eric is going to lean on Cornell to try to figure out what happened … that is, if he is not the killer himself. We should state here that we really hope that Eric is a good guy, mostly because we just watched Ealy play extremely creepy on “The Following” and change every now and then can be a good thing.

As confirmed by Deadline, we can now tell you that none other than “Dallas” alumni Jordana Brewster (who is probably also familiar to anyone who watches the “Fast and the Furious” movie franchise) is set to play the role of Kate. Given that she is a fairly big name, we have to assume that the show is planning to keep this character around even after she is dead. Flashbacks are probably a big part of the equation here.

Meanwhile, the site also reports that Charlie Barnett of “Chicago Fire” fame is set to play Eric’s younger brother, who is an analyst at the firm.
