‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6, episode 8 review: Is Clark working for Charles?
It should be a common rule at this point on “Pretty Little Liars” that if we have not seen much of you before this season, you are probably up to no good. We definitely felt this way tonight based on what we saw with Clark and clearly he is someone that needs to be watched.
Aria’s new photographer friend proved himself to be somewhat shady, given that he met up with another new mysterious figure who is working with the group responsible for giving Hanna a scholarship. Not only that, but this new guy looks suspiciously a lot like Ali and Jason. Could he be the long-lost Charles, or just a red herring dressed to look like his doppelganger?
We’re not sure that we buy Clark as Charles’ henchman, mostly because it is too obvious and this show is a lot smarter then that when it comes to it’s storytelling. Do we think he has secrets? Sure, but they may be a little more complicated than we think – everything is when it comes to this show and that’s why we can’t wait to tune in every week.
In regards to the story surrounding these questions tonight, we learned through the exhibition that not only is Aria not safe pretty much anywhere, but that Charles may have an ax to grind with Tanner … who may have also realized tonight that Ali is more of an asset than she first realized courtesy of her past ties to Charles and what she remembers. Meanwhile, the Liars are starting to prepare for prom, and Aria started has begun to realize that her idea of asking Ezra was not going to go as she once hoped. This episode was not the most eventful we’ve seen, but it did set the stage in a spectacular way for the summer finale in two weeks. Grade: B-.
