‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Why no Ben Higgins reveal during ‘After the Final Rose’?

We’re sure that some viewers of “The Bachelorette” were probably disappointed in one thing tonight more than anything else: The lack of news about who would be the next star of “The Bachelor.”

Even with this being said, we do think that the big reveal is fairly obvious: It is probably going to be Ben Higgins! There is really no reason for it not to be him based on all of the information we know at this point. Not only was he extremely popular throughout the season, but he did get mentioned a few times during the episode itself. Ultimately, we’re going to find out probably a little bit later this summer that he is the lead.

We feel like the reason that this was not brought up at all over the course of the night is because this is an announcement that ABC is saving for some point down the road. Specifically, we think that it will be made during “Bachelor in Paradise” to boost ratings and force people to tune in.

Now that we’ve said that, we feel about 99% positive that Ben as the leading man next season will not change, even if someone on “Bachelor in Paradise” turns out to be very popular. The show has claimed that it is possible that someone from that show could go on to be the Bachelor someday, but we just don’t see it happening. The series likes to carry the stars over from their flagships, mostly because they are still at least reasonably fresh-faced at that point and not overexposed
