‘Doctor Who’ season 9: Peter Capaldi goes through show history, has fun in new video

Remember when “Doctor Who” first cast Peter Capaldi is the new lead? One of the real benefits of the hire almost right away was the fact that he is an enormous fan of the show. He has been for years, and he even wrote many of the stars of the show when he was young. Obviously, he has gone on to do a variety of different things, but this is something that he has to be happy to come back to at the moment.

The new video below was released by the show on its official YouTube page this weekend, and it took place back during the madness that is San Diego Comic-Con. This is a video that is really all about the fandom of the series. You get a chance to hear about the show’s history, and also a thing or two about what Capaldi specifically likes about the show and some past events.

These are the sorts of videos that we like to see at this point, mostly because there is really no value anymore in seeing the same sort of interviews that we’ve had time and time again in other mediums. We know that there is nothing that Capaldi can say about the new season, so why even bother chasing after that narrative? It is far more interesting to see him talking about something new.
