‘The 100’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Black Sails’ actor joins for arc

While it may be still many months before we end up seeing “The 100” on The CW again with new episodes, at least the cast for the show is starting to very much come together.

Today, this means getting a chance to learn a thing or two more about the latest Grounder, and it is someone who “Shameless” and “Black Sails” fans should be very familiar with. As first reported by TheWrap, Zach McGowan is going to recur as a man named Roan who is formidable, and is going to work extremely hard in order to ensure that everything he wants he ends up getting.

The rest of his role, at least for now, is still shrouded in a certain amount of mystery. Much of this show is at the moment, save for that we are jumping forward at least a few months after the events of season 2, where Lexa’s actions are still going to be reverberating in a big way. Let’s also add in here that there may not be that much in the way of kindness at this point for Lexa and Clarke, which is probably going to be a bummer for some out there who were rooting for them.

We anticipate the premiere of “The 100” probably coming at some point from January to March, and it could depend on how the ratings for some other shows on The CW fare. Their schedule is at the moment fairly packed, with there possibly being holes on Friday or Monday depending on how “Reign” in its new timeslot or “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” fare.

McGowan is joining one other guest star who many TV veterans should be familiar with: Michael Beach, otherwise known from “Third Watch” and from being T.O. Cross on “Sons of Anarchy.”
