‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Danielle Panabaker teases Jay Garrick story

“The Flash” has been kind enough so far to at least reveal a couple of key players for their upcoming second season, and it is a mixture of likable good guys, and of course also someone completely nefarious in Professor Zoom who could end up being the Reverse Flash on steroids.

We imagine that there are going to be countless opportunities moving forward to talk about Zoom and what he brings to the table (here’s a clue: evil stuff), so let’s spend a minute or two here speaking instead of Garrick. He is the person, per the show’s Comic-Con teaser, is going to effectively warn Barry Allen that not all is right in Central City in the aftermath of the singularity. In turn, he is someone who may be able to help him prepare for things to come.

We have a good piece of scoop now from Danielle Panabaker, whose own story as Caitlin Snow is currently under wraps. (We’re still hoping for Killer Frost sooner rather than later.) Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she had the following to say on Garrick and what he brings:

“[Jay is] going to have an impact on everybody on Team Flash … He’s going to be a very cool mentor to Barry and he’s going to help Barry expand his powers and the things that he’s capable of doing.”

Anyone who knows the comics more than likely knows already that we have only seen a fraction of what The Flash can actually do on the show. We suppose that ultimately, the challenge here may be giving us some elements of this right away, but not going overboard to where it starts to look like Barry is one of those over-powered people that your friends always choose to beat you in fighting games.
