‘Suits’ season 5, episode 5 preview: Sarah Rafferty on future for Donna, Harvey
This past episode of “Suits” contained what is in so many ways a pivotal moment in the Harvey / Donna relationship. Really for the first time since the start of the season. Harvey finally started to accept and be happy for her former secretary after she loved over to Louis Litt’s office. At first, he was bitter, jealous, and had no sense of how to process his feelings. Much of that changed when he thanked her for the past twelve years that they have spent together.
Now that Harvey has shown this sort of honesty and kindness, does it mean that things may be different for the two of them moving forward? There are no guarantees, but Sarah Rafferty tells Yahoo TV that there will at least be opportunities for things to get better for the two the rest of season 5:
“That was an important moment for them, a kind of healing, because of course they’re gonna always be there for each other. That’s what she was talking about: We had 12 years, we don’t just turn into ice kings and queens with each other. We have a relationship. So yes, when push comes to shove, they have each other, and they’ll be there for each other because their relationship transcends the workplace.”
If you believe like us that Donna and Harvey have some sort of destiny to eventually become more romantically intertwined, the question becomes this: How do you pair them up without hurting Louis in the process? While the man has a tendency at times to be a heel, we also don’t want to see him hurt in any capacity after thinking for weeks that Donna was just going to leave him as soon as possible.
