‘The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All’: Do Jared Haibon, Chris Strandburg have ‘Bachelor’ aspirations?

Jared -There is an interesting dichotomy taking place right now when you think about the race to see who is going to be the next star of “The Bachelor.” From our vantage point, it’s really been settled already that Ben Higgins has the job. He will get his own segment tonight, and in turn probably the admiration of even more men and women around America.

So why are media outlets even bothering asking other contestants on “The Bachelorette” about potentially being the series lead? It’s because they’ve all still got to play the game. It’s not “official” in the eyes of the show until it is confirmed by Chris Harrison or in a press release, so the other guys have to pretend to play more of a waiting game in order to appease everyone.

So of course, the likes of Jared Haibon and Chris Strandburg are going to say that they would be interested in the gig to E! News after the taping of “The Men Tell All” over a week ago, even if the two know that they have next to no real shot at it. Jared already has “Bachelor in Paradise,” and Chris does not have the benefit of air time. They are being good ambassadors of the show this way, and making sure that they leave all options open in the way that something crazy happens.

Here’s the funniest part about the entire charade to us: E! is actually the outlet who was first to report that Ben would be “The Bachelor,” and they probably know better than anyone that it is close to a done deal.

So, be prepared to watch a few guys auditioning tonight for a role they will probably never get … in addition to a few guys like JJ (see a preview here) who is just trying to save a little bit of face.
