‘America’s Got Talent’ preview: Neil Patrick Harris guest judges!

Apparently, NBC is either rather good at keeping secrets, or this is just not something that we knew to look for. Either way, we were somewhat surprised to learn that Neil Patrick Harris is going to be a guest judge on Tuesday night’s new “America’s Got Talent” episode!

Neil be helping the judges in their first round of making big cuts in order to determine who is going to be performing in the live shows. Not only that, but it looks like he may be in possession of a golden buzzer of his own! Given that Neil is super-entertaining and has a variety of tastes, he is really someone who should do a good job in this role.

Also, there could be another motivation for these acts to perform well in front of Neil. He has a variety show called “Best Time Ever” that is coming on this fall, so in addition to there being some cross-promotion, he is someone who could book some of these acts someday on this show. Remember that he is a huge fan of magic and variety acts in general, so this is almost a double-audition for some of them.

Now, we just have to hope for some of these acts to bring it. We have been for the most part very impressed by what NBC has brought us so far, but at the same time we are still waiting for someone to really step it up and bring something completely new to the table.
