‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Big moves all around for Cameron
The next new episode of AMC’s “Halt and Catch Fire” is going to be a pivotal one for the Cameron character, and the more and more we hear as to why, the more intrigued we start to get about the story itself.
In some ways, the romance with Tom is an afterthought, which is somewhat of a shame since he seems to be at least interested in trying to treat her well. She even meets his mother in the sneak peek below! Isn’t that a nice step? Well, any hope for the two to actually talk about the get-together is quickly interrupted by the fact that the phone starts to wring, and Joe MacMillan is on the other side.
Ultimately, Jacob Wheeler’s company is interested in buying Mutiny following what Joe learned after their demonstration-gone-horribly-wrong at the end of this past episode. Did they trick him? Sure, but at the same time they also demonstrated the capacity to do something earth-shattering when it comes to broadband technology that could change the entire computer industry. Jacob doesn’t want to mess around now that he knows this, and neither does Joe.
Now, the question that Cameron and eventually Donna are going to have to wrestle with for the time being is this: Whether or not they can handle the idea of selling the company at this particular point in time. They wanted their independence, and giving into “the man” is the last thing that comes to mind when you mention a name like “Mutiny” to someone.
