‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Will Gordon and Donna admit the truth?

Tonight’s “Halt and Catch Fire” brought us significant movement in almost every way. For example, we had a chance to see Gordon decide to head out west and sleep with a woman from his past, while Donna back in Texas was telling other people about her miscarriage other than him. Meanwhile, Joe was rampaging all over Mutiny after they tried to trick him into thinking that they had met what he claimed were demands to ultimately land them a better price.

Next week’s new episode is going to pick up where we left off tonight, and hopefully the show is going to move forward with some of these stories in an exciting new way. The synopsis below offers up the first teasers:

“Gordon and Donna harbor secrets from one another as Gordon launches a new venture. Meanwhile, at Mutiny, an acquisition puts Cameron’s principles to the test.”

Obviously, the Gordon / Donna stories are going to be overshadowed by something as fascinating as the potential acquisition by Jacob Wheeler. We saw at the very end of tonight’s episode, in a really awesome twist no doubt, that Joe wants Jacob to acquire Mutiny based on their broadband technology. It’s a bold move that could be a smart one for Cameron in that she would have so many more resources and be able to stop struggling. At the same time, does she really want to give away a company that she has fought so hard for over time?
