‘UnREAL’ episode 6 preview: Will Mary’s date lead into disaster?

UnREAL -While much of Monday night’s new episode of “UnREAL” revolved for the most part around the relationship between Adam Cromwell and Faith, this show cannot spend too much time on a single suitor when there are still so many left. Therefore, do not be altogether shocked that next week’s “Fly” will be focusing more on Mary. We saw her attempt to woo Adam tonight by telling a heartfelt story about her past dealing with abuse, and this was enough to convince him to let her have the “Everlasting” equivalent of a hometown date.

What we are going to see as a result of this is a potential disaster. Rachel and Quinn are so desperate to win a bet over whether or not they can make Mary last longer than some other contenders that they may pull some underhanded tricks to make Mary and Adam closer. Are they the reason why another suitor shows up at the date, or possibly even why Adam gets punched in the face at one point? We’re not ruling it out. The person we truly feel sorry for is Mary’s kid for having to put up with many of these shenanigans.

What the show has done a stellar job of so far is really crafting specific narratives for many of the women that are compelling and in many ways sad. After all, you have left now an abuse victim, someone who stayed on the show even after the death of her father, a lesbian who is using the show to hide her sexuality, and someone who Adam’s friend Roger seriously violated earlier this season.

We would share the synopsis for next week’s episode next, but what’s the point when it regurgitates what we have said already?
