‘MasterChef’ season 6, episode 8 video: The 100th episode party

It’s an achievement for any show these days to make it to 100 episodes. We imagine that it feels even more of one when you look at “MasterChef” in the midst of the entire reality TV landscape at the moment. This is a genre that has many established franchises, but the majority of them like “Survivor,” “The Bachelor,” and “American Idol” have been on more than a decade. This show, coupled with “The Voice,” are really two of the only established hits of a newer generation of shows, and many others around this time have been quickly canceled.

Below, you can get a sense of what the show is doing to celebrate with its next new episode Wednesday on Fox. Of course, there is going to be a customary team challenge, so there will still be a lot of work for the current contestants. However, there are two little wrinkles that may make this one a little bit different from the standard grind the contestants go through.

1. Look at the video thumbnail below, and you will get a sense of just how beautiful this setting really is. Anyone would be lucky to eat in such a place, even if the food was bad for whatever reason (we don’t imagine it is here).

2. Many of the people you are feeding are actually former contestants who are coming back to help celebrate the show. Casting is one of the reasons why “MasterChef” has done so well, so it makes sense that they would be recognized.
