‘Mistresses’ season 3, episode 3 review: Harry’s horror, Joss the model, and more

Joss -Mistresses” started off last week with a pretty solid two-hour premiere, giving us a pretty solid sense as to where the story was going. However, we would say that the Joss – Calista story was far and away the best part of the two hours as their unlikely friendship started to blossom.

Tonight, that continued to start to develop as they both were forced to deal with some personal drama. Joss learned a thing or two about modeling after she helped Calista out at the last minute; not only that, but she eventually offered to hire her as a full-time event planner. The only problem? Joss feels a little weird after she decided to stalk out Harry for a few minutes rather than actually just talk to her friend about it.

While all of this happened, Harry was learning that his “top ten chefs in LA” photo shoot actually ended up being more of a ploy to get him involved in something labeling him one of the top ten hottest chefs in LA. While this was awkward, having a certain someone at WonderBar bail him out in a most revealing fashion made things even more so … especially as Joss started to learn more.

While we’re not going to say that either Karen or April had fantastic stories tonight, they were at least fascinating ones to watch unfold. April finally started to see some of her own mistakes when it comes to her past, and at the same time, she may not regret taking someone in anymore. As for Karen, we do still want something a little meatier from her, but the four characters started to get closer to intertwining their stories by hour’s end. That gives us hope. Grade: B+.
