‘MasterChef’ season 6, episode 7 preview: The TV dinner challenge

MasterChef -If there is one thing that we routinely criticize “MasterChef” for these days, it is being entirely formulaic as far as the challenges go. Therefore, we are rather pleased to see that the show is shaking things up in some way for the episode airing on Wednesday night.

How are they doing that? It’s an Elimination Challenge themed around TV dinners! To be honest, we have no idea how in the world this is supposed to work or what the rules are here. Are these food products that they have to be able to just put together and then stick in the oven? Do they need to be easy to eat? There are many questions that we have at the moment, but very few answers. Still, we imagine that someone will get sent home over it, and a few people are going to present what may be their best and worst dishes. That part of the competition will remain the same.

One other quick thought: Don’t the editors really love Derrick? We get it. He’s proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen, and at the same time he has also given some of the best one-liners and confessions. Basically, he’s a reality TV producer’s dream.

Here is one other interesting bit of news regarding this episode: It is the 99th one of the series! The 100th installment is going to air come July 1, and we’re looking forward to speaking a little bit more about that in due time.
