NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 3 spoilers: Is Dr. Lecter sensing the end is near?

Hannibal -One of the fascinating things about “Hannibal” season 3 at the moment is that you know where the story is going, and therefor the show’s challenge is to make that journey exciting. In order for the series to stay close to the books, Hannibal Lecter has to be captured at some point. The show even foreshadowed in the premiere episode that this is coming, when Bedelia suggested to Hannibal that he is eventually going to be captured given his current behavior patterns.

Based on what we are hearing about when it comes to the upcoming sixth episode of the season entitled “Dolce” (airing July 9), that moment may be coming soon. Just take a look at the synopsis:

“Sensing their time in Florence is coming to an end, Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) and Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) consider their parting as Hannibal plans for his final stand. Meanwhile, Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Jack Crawford (Jack Crawford) reunite, but Jack remains uncertain about Will’s true loyalty. Back in the States, Mason Verger (guest star Joe Anderson) hungrily makes plans for Hannibal’s capture, while Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas) and Margot Verger (guest star Katharine Isabelle) makes plans of their own for Mason.”

There is a lot of exciting stuff there, but one last little clue we can offer you right now is that the eighth episode is entitled “The Great Red Dragon.” Therefore, this whole arc of Hannibal in Italy is probably going to need to be over come the end of episode 7 in order to make the transition and give us the time jump.
