Ratings: ‘The Astronaut Wives Club’ has softer stars; ‘Mistresses’ season 3, ‘Hannibal’ low

Astronaut Wives Club -The ratings for Thursday night’s TV lineup are in, and as a whole they are … interesting.

Let’s start here when it comes to ABC’s “The Astronaut Wives Club.” The show, which featured JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Yvonne Strahovski as the very things mentioned in the title, drew a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. While these numbers are not necessarily terrible by any means, we have also seen many other shows do far and a way better throughout the summer. The real test will be next week. If the show draws a similar rating next week, maybe it has a future; otherwise, it could be toast.

As for the season 3 premiere of “Mistresses,” that show fared a little bit worse. With a 0.9 rating over the course of the two hours, this marks a slight decrease from where we were at the end of season 2. Granted, the show had a better lead-in courtesy of “The Bachelorette,” and it also listened to Alyssa Milano as a series regular.

Now, let’s discuss the woe of the latest “Hannibal” ratings. With its second straight 0.5 rating, we imagine that the time for excuses is now over. There was no NBA Finals or “Jurassic World” opening or “Orange is the New Black” binge. The ratings here are the ratings, and that has us very much worried for the future of this series on NBC. Maybe it will have a future elsewhere even if this show comes off of the air on its current network.

We will have some other news related to “Hannibal” and other shows soon, so stay tuned for more of that.
