‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Another mystery man enters the fray

The FlashThe Flash” season 2 begins filming next month, but we already are getting at least some early scoop in regards to who could be turning up, and who will be the major players. With that said, it’s not like the show is being that liberal with the details.

What we can at least tell you for now is that according to TVLine, the CW series is currently casting a man “named” John Clark. We put that in quotes because odds are, that is most likely not his real name, and producers want to keep the element of surprise intact a little while longer. They are looking for a heroic and handsome man in this thirties to early forties, who also may have some traces of cynicism in him. He’s not going to be completely your prototypical hero type. This is a character who is designed to be around for most of the second season, so either he is a longtime ally / asset to Barry Allen, or he could always be someone who ends up tricking us on his way to becoming a villain.

We know already that Tom Cavanagh is set still to reprise his role as Harrison Wells, but depending on the shifts in time it is very well possible that he could be a different man in season 2 than we saw in season 1. Meanwhile, the status of some other villains is unclear. We’re assuming that Gorilla Grodd will be back in some form, and we at least know that Killer Frost is out there, regardless of whether or not she surfaces as a huge presence anytime soon.

As reported yesterday, the show is also casting a new love interest for Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) tentatively named Wendy.
