Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’ loses the ‘AKA’ from the title

We have a small change to announce here when it comes to one of the upcoming Marvel series coming to Netflix: No longer is “AKA Jessica Jones” going to have the “AKA” before the name. As confirmed now by ComicBook.com, the series will now be known as “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” or just “Jessica Jones” for short.

While we feel like most of the internet is probably happier with this move, we consider ourselves to be in the quiet minority who actually liked the name the way that it was the first time around. It was unique, and there weren’t many other shows that tried something like that. To be fair, though, we do still imagine that the majority of people out there are still going to refer to the show mostly as just “Jessica Jones,” and we really cannot blame them for that decision. After all, that’s easier to say to many of your friends, and most shows with longer titles tend to be abbreviated in one way or another when it comes to vernacular.

This series is set to star Krysten Ritter as a former superhero who is now taking on a career as a private eye who happens to still have plenty of knowledge in that world. This is Netflix’s second Marvel series after “Daredevil,” and this one is going to in turn help to spawn the upcoming “Luke Cage” series all about that character.

We imagine that we will have a whole lot more in the way of news to share about this particular series soon, so be prepared to be on the lookout for that!

What do you think about the title change, or do you even think that this is remotely a big deal? Share with a comment.
