‘The X-Files’ spoilers: ‘Community’ star Joel McHale to guest star

X Files -For all of those who love “Community,” we cannot guarantee anything more when it comes to the show; however, at the same time we know that Joel McHale is going to be doing something else on television very soon.

According to a report from Deadline, McHale will be appearing on a new episode of “The X-Files” revival next year. Specifically, his role will be that of Tad O’Malley, a conservative anchor of an internet news network who actually ends up being an asset to Mulder (David Duchovny.) Other than some of the familiar faces coming back, this is the first actual casting that is a completely new face from the franchise.

For those of you who are curious about whether or not Joel can carry drama, remember that he did have a very good turn on “Sons of Anarchy” and should be more than comfortable here.

Personally, at the top of our own “X-Files” wish list would be simply stars who also happen to be huge fans of the series, and would really be passionate about it. While we don’t personally know much about Joel’s particular fandom, we know that he is a guy who puts his everything into all he does. He’ll be great here, regardless of how much screen time he has.

For the most part, details are still sketchy on the revival, save that it may tie up some loose ends, and that it will only be six episodes. Yes, that may not be a whole lot, but at least it’s better than not getting any of the show at all.
