‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: ABC loses their mind with JJ Lane – Clint Arlis promo

Remember here that when you go on a reality TV show, the network and producers can manipulate almost anything that you say and do into something else. For prime example, just take a look at what ABC and “The Bachelorette” have put out in a promo for Monday night’s new episode. This is one that really plays like a show desperate to tease something that is not actually happening, and it uses such words as “Brokeback Bachelor” in order to make it scandalous.

Here’s what is going on: Clint Arlis and JJ Lane are really bro-ing down in the Bachelor Mansion. Maybe they’ve got a little bit of a bromance brewing, to use the term, and they talked about it enough in the confessional room to make it sound like there is something more happening than there is. If you take away the dramatic music, then it should feel fairly obvious that Clint is just joking around with some of his comments.

Also, doesn’t the promo in some ways trivialize a real romance between two men? Then again, you could make a comment that the show itself trivializes romance in general by putting a bunch of people on TV and hoping for the best.

Regardless of what happens on the show, we hardly imagine that JJ and Clint are going to be the last two men standing this season with Kaitlyn Bristowe. At their moment, their egos seem to collectively so large that it is hard to imagine them really fitting inside the mansion at the same time.
