‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Sumo wrestlers and sadness

Who would want to go on a date involving sumo wrestlers? The answer here is “not many,” which is probably why the producers of “The Bachelorette” decided that this would be a great idea for a group date on Monday night’s episode. Sometimes, we do think that the show likes to plan things out on opposite day. Remember here that we have another date coming up Monday that involves pranking some men into thinking that they are teaching sex-ed to children, clearly one of the most romantic things ever.

While the synopsis below does not give you a whole lot of details as to what is coming up specifically on the date, it does appear as though at least one guy invited on it is not going to be particularly pleased to take part:

“Sixteen men move on in an attempt to capture Kaitlyn’s heart. World Champion sumo wrestlers Biyamba and Yama give six bachelors a wake-up call they won’t soon forget, and one unhappy guy vocalizes his displeasure with the day’s activity.”

Whoever this guy is, they may have a point: How are sumo wrestlers going to be getting you a romantic connection with anymore? More than likely, it’s just going to be comical and silly based on how the show presents it (note that we’re being clear here that there is a distinction between show presentation and the actual art of sumo wrestling). The date will be possibly even aggressive, if you actually have the guys taking part in some of the wrestling itself. It’s like the boxing group date, except with a different wardrobe.

Who knows? Maybe this date will surprise us, but we’re not holding out a ton of hope.
