‘Big Brother 17’ spoilers: When will the cast be revealed?

Now that we’ve spent the past few months diving into “Big Brother Canada,” we’re happy now to dive back into coverage of the U.S. version of the show all summer long … even though we’ll be waiting for a little while still for some of the first details of “Big Brother 17” to come out.

For now, here’s what we can say for sure: The show is premiering come Wednesday, June 24, and the semi-finalists for the season have already been contacted according to Robyn Kass’ Twitter. Sequester will begin next month obviously, and given that the show is premiering on Wednesday, June 24, we imagine that the cast reveal will be out at around Thursday, June 18. It was six days before the premiere last summer when we found out who would be a part of the season. One other thing that is interesting is that the show is once again teasing a two-night premiere, which makes us wonder if they are employing a similar sort of strategy with the Battle of the Block and the two Heads of Household that we had last time. We’d personally hope not since we want a more traditional game after season 3 of the Canadian show, but anything’s possible.

As for returning players, could it happen? Maybe a select few are possible, but we don’t see CBS as being that interested in bringing people back right now. Sure, they did it for “Survivor,” but that was the first time in several seasons that they have. Given that seasons 15-16 were somewhat lukewarm, we feel almost like they would want one more summer, and then they would turn season 18 into a full All-Stars for the first time since season 7.

Ultimately, we imagine that we’ll know so much more by the time we dive deeper into June. Stay tuned.
