‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: Now casting more villains

Gotham -The second season of “Gotham” most likely will not premiere until late September, but it’s never too early to start sharing some of the latest casting news!

According to a report from TVLine, the Batman prequel on Fox is currently casting two “DC villains” to appear on the upcoming second season. The first is a man described as being “intelligent, cultured, and highly articulate,” while the second is an attractive “knock-out” in her mid-to-late-twenties who can probably use her appearance to her advantage. For the time being, we hope that these two villains are a little bit more on the obscure side, given that we don’t want to see too much more of the show changing things up and aging certain villains just to include them on the show. We don’t want to see or imagine Batman someday fighting only villains collecting their AARP cards.

What we would actually be more in favor of at this point is “Gotham” getting creative, and coming up with some more epic villains of their own similar to what they did at times this season. Just because we did not think that Fish Mooney particularly worked well is not a reason to suddenly avoid trying again. There are still a variety of other interesting ideas that you can play with in this world.

Ultimately, the only requirement for villains seems to be to ground them in a certain element of reality. You can still make them have elements of comic-book characters while not just making them people who you would see in any crime drama under the sun.
